Finding Ms Kathleen was a blessing for my child and my family! Dedicating time to see a CALT multiple days a week can be very difficult on a family for numerous reasons, but it’s worth it for so many reasons too. When my kiddo goes to see Ms Kathleen, he ALWAYS comes out smiling. To me, that says it all and gives me confidence that he is not only learning but enjoying! Last year my child surpassed his year-end goals before it came to an end, and therefore, had many new goals set for him because of the progress he was making! Ms Kathleen keeps me (and my child’s school team) fully updated on his progress. She provides both written and verbal feedback every week. Her expertise in dyslexia and dysgraphia is top-notch and vast. She is passionately informed and strives to be up-to-date in all the latest research and neuroscience. Ms Kathleen is a constant learner and encourages her students to also have a learner’s attitude of curiosity and commitment. She boosts my kid with positive energy and love, and has given me the same as well. I couldn’t recommend Ms Kathleen enough.

Our family sought the expertise of Kathleen during the late summer of 2020 during the pandemic. Our daughter finished first grade remotely and simultaneously was identified with dyslexia. Kathleen provided a comprehensive review of Lydia’s baseline, offered one-on-one therapy, progress monitored, and shared weekly updates on her progression. She is professional, timely, deeply knowledgeable, and maintains high expectations. Our daughter excelled and after two years of therapy with Ms. Kathleen, Lydia has the ability to navigate on-level texts. Kathleen taught skills that Lydia was able to demonstrate to her classroom teachers. Most importantly, Lydia learned to read, is successful at school, and will complete the BLS dyslexia program prior to middle school. Ms. Kathleen will always have a special place in our family’s story: she provided a safe environment with appropriately challenging goals for Lydia, and she celebrated Lydia’s successes along the way. Kathleen is a gifted therapist and teacher, and my wish would be that all students identified with dyslexia would receive the attention and expertise she provides.

We were referred to Kathleen by a tutoring company I’d contacted about Academic Language Therapy. After some testing, they recommended 3 therapy sessions per week, which exceeded their availability but was no problem for Kathleen. For the next 18 months, we had a great experience with Kathleen. Her home office environment was warm and kid-friendly. Communication was professional but easygoing when life didn’t always go to plan. Kathleen managed our kid’s attention struggles beautifully, and we were so impressed with the BLS program whose fast pace kept our kid engaged and happy to come back. The result was excellent reading progress but also a return of our kid’s confidence and enthusiasm toward learning, which was my top concern. When our school finally made a dyslexia diagnosis and took over services, you would never guess Kathleen was losing business; she shared our relief and cooperated with the new therapist for a smooth transition. We are so happy we found Kathleen and would recommend her wholeheartedly to any family in need of private reading therapy.
